In November 2022, Two Companies…

Tracksmith and Hoka stepped up with clothing and shoes to sponsor the Refugee Run Club. On a Wednesday afternoon in late November, Adrian Brune, Omer Chomani and photographer Carlotta Cardana went to the Darashakran camp, 20 miles outside of Erbil to distribute the gear to some very happy teenager runners.

The Darashakran Refugee Camp lies 20 miles outside Erbil, the capital of Northern Iraq.

The cinder-block houses in which many of the refugees live. At Darashakran, most of the refugees have escaped the civil war in Syria and the children raised there know little of their lives outside the camp.
